Edit Signer's E-mail Address

This article explains what to do when a transaction fails due to an incorrect signer e-mail address.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If the signer's e-mail address is incorrect, the transaction will fail, and the signer won't receive the signing request.

⚠️You cannot directly change an e-mail on a failed transaction. To fix it, you must first reactivate the transaction, then immediately update the e-mail before it fails again.

Step 1: Reactivate the Transaction

  1. Go to the Overview.

  2. Find the transaction marked as Failed.

  3. Click on the transaction to open its details.

  4. Click the three dots (•••) in the top right corner.

  5. Select Reactivate transaction:

Once reactivated, the transaction becomes active again, and the countdown to expiration restarts.

Step 2: Edit the Recipient’s E-mail Address

  1. After reactivation, click on the signer whose e-mail is incorrect:

2. In the pop-up window, locate the E-mail field.

3. Enter the correct e-mail.

4. Remember to click Save after making any changes.

If you were successful, a green message-box with the text "Recipient updated, new notification was sent" will appear in the top right corner, and as it mentions, a new notification will automatically be sent to the newly updated e-mail address.

⚠️ You have to act quickly. If you wait too long, the transaction may fail again, and you'll have to repeat the process.
