What is CPR validation?

CPR validation verifies a person's identity using their CPR number and MitID. This ensures the individual is who they claim to be.

You receive the following information from the person you are validating:

  1. Full name

  2. Registered address

  3. CPR number

  4. MitID status

The person validates using their MitID and enters their CPR number, which must match. This confirms their identity with high certainty.

What can CPR validation be used for?

CPR validation helps confirm someone’s identity remotely and retrieves their name, CPR number, and address. It’s useful when:

  • Sending confidential documents

  • Making payment or financial agreements

  • Leasing or renting valuable items

After validation, the CPR number can be used to ensure the correct person signs any agreement.

How does CPR validation work?

It is simple and quick to send a CPR validation request through Addo. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Click Send in the menu bar at the top

  2. Navigate to the Validate CPR section

  3. Enter the recipient's name and e-mail address

  4. Finalize the request by clicking Request CPR Validation

After this, the recipient will receive an e-mail that looks like this:

By clicking on the "Udfyld formular" button, the recipient will be redirected to the following page:

Here, the recipient will be asked to sign in and authenticate with MitID. After doing so, the recipient will be redirected to the following page, where they'll be asked to sign/validate the following CPR-validation document:

Once the recipient has clicked the OK button, the validation will be completed and signed. Both the sender and the recipient will receive the signed document.

If the recipient instead clicks the Reject button, they will be prompted to give a reason for the rejection, and the sender will be notified of the rejection and reasoning.

How do you activate it?

The CPR validation service has been accessible for all Addo Sign accounts from 01.08.2024.
