How to Send documents via e-Boks without a CPR number

You can send documents via e-Boks even if you do not have the recipient’s CPR number.

Updated over a week ago

Instead of CPR-based identification, e-Boks uses the recipient’s name and address to match the document to a digital inbox. The document is only delivered if a unique recipient can be identified.

How delivery works

When sending without a CPR number, the delivery is based on recipient data:

  1. You provide the recipient’s name and address

  2. e-Boks compares the information with registered address data

  3. The document is delivered if exactly one recipient can be identified

  4. If no unique match is found, the delivery fails

This ensures that documents are only delivered when the recipient can be identified with sufficient certainty.

Data requirements

To ensure successful delivery, the recipient information must be accurate:

  • The first name must match the recipient’s first given name

  • The last name must match the last part of the full name

  • The address must match registered address data

Incorrect or incomplete information will result in failed delivery.

⚠️Recipients with name and address protection cannot receive the document

When to use this method

Sending via e-Boks without CPR is useful when:

  • You do not have access to CPR numbers

  • You need a secure alternative to physical mail

  • You want to send documents through a trusted digital inbox

This method allows you to maintain secure digital communication without relying on personal identification numbers.
