When public links are enabled on a form, it is possible to drag a link from the form and send it directly to the signatories you want to answer the form or make it a public link.
Anyone who accesses this link will have access to answer the form.
What is the advantage of a public link?
By default, Addo Forms are sent via email to a single respondent and one or more signatories, but with a public link, the respondent is sent to the form instead of the form being sent directly to one or more respondents via email. This can be an advantage if the sender does not want specific persons to fill in the form, e.g. for registration to an event, enrolment in a school, etc. The link can therefore be added to a website and then anyone who has access to the website can access the link and be redirected to fill in the form.
Enabling public links
In order to use a public link for a form, it must first be enabled for the form. This is done as follows:
- Go to Settings
- Go to Forms
-
Select the form for which the public link should be activated. If it says Disabled next to the form, it means that public link is not enabled for the form.
Then the public link can be enabled for the form. This is done by scrolling to the bottom of the form, and tick off Enable public link as shown below. Remember to save the form afterwards.
You have now activated a public link to the form. In the next section you will be able to read about who is the form owner and what this means.
Form owner
As you can see in the image above, there will be a form owner when the public link is activated. The form owner will be the email that will receive the PDFs that are created when someone accesses the public link and fills out the form. This is different from sending a form by email to a respondent, where it will be the sender of the form who will receive the signed PDF at the end.
When activating the public link, you will be able to choose which email should be the form owner (see image above). The form owner must be a user on the account.
When will a transaction be created when using a public link?
A transaction is normally created when the sender sends documents or a form for signature with Addo, but if a public link is enabled for a form, a transaction will be created on the sender's account when the form has been accessed, filled out and signed.
Therefore, this also means that credits are charged from the sender's account for the form when it is saved and for the signature method when the form is signed.
