There are three types of roles that can receive the documents in return after they are signed:
The Signer
The Sender (with distribution method "Shared Email")
The Copy Receiver
How these signed documents are distributed varies depending on the role.
Important: only The Sender and The Copy Receiver can receive the signed documents as a PDF attachment. The Signer will always receive the document as a download link. There are no settings to change this.
For The Signer
For the signer, documents will always be distributed as a download link.
This is for security reasons. If the document is attached to an email as a PDF, the document is saved on the mailing server and is available to the mail system provider. When using a download link, the document is stored in the local storage of the device.
If the documents are not downloaded, the signer will receive emails with a request to download the documents until they expire.
If the signer is not supposed to download the documents at all, and wants to avoid these reminder emails, it is possible to choose that the signer's receipt should not include a document, as shown here:
For The Sender - with distribution method "Shared Email"
The Sender can on the other hand change this in settings.
Go to Settings
Click on integrations
Choose mail
Choose how you would like the documents returned
For the Copy Receiver
In Template Settings - pre decide the method:
Go to settings
Choose Templates and the template you want to edit
Scroll down to "Recipients of signed copy"
Coose the preferred receipt
This will determine the default method in the "Send Page"
NB! If you add a recipient to the template, you have to choose method here as well
