What Is a "Transaction"?
A transaction in Addo is the entire shipment - with or without signature - created every time you send something. Each transaction can include multiple documents and signatories.
Note: Status messages are shown per signatory, and they may differ between signers in the same transaction.
Status Messages Explained
Created
Shown when a transaction is scheduled via an integration for future start.
Until the chosen start date, the status remains "Created."
Started
Displayed once the transaction has been sent and delivered to the signatory.
Documents may have been viewed, but not signed yet.
Pending
Seen only when multiple signers must sign in a specific order.
This means a signer is waiting for others to complete their steps before being invited.
Signed
Indicates that one signer has completed signing.
Used only in multi-signer transactions. If all have signed, the status becomes Completed.
Distributing
Appears briefly after all signers have signed.
It means Addo is currently distributing the documents via selected channels.
Note: If stuck in this status, contact support with the transaction ID.
Completed
Displayed once all documents have been:
Signed by all signatories

And documents successfully distributed
Note: You can download documents up to 10 days after the expiry date. After that, they're deleted permanently.
Expired
The transaction has expired and is no longer active.
Senders are notified by email
You can reactivate it for up to 10 days
After that, documents are deleted and personal data may be masked (per GDPR settings)
Cancelled
Only the sender can cancel a transaction.
When cancelled for one signer, the entire transaction is stopped for all.
Note: Cancelled transactions cannot be reactivated.
Data Collection
Displayed when:
A CPR validation request has been sent
An Addo Form has been sent to be completed
CPR validations change to Completed once done. Addo Forms follow regular status flows: Signed, Completed, etc.
Rejected
Occurs when a signer actively rejects the transaction.
This stops the entire transaction for all parties.
Signers must provide a reason for rejection
All signers will see the status as "Rejected"
Rejected transactions cannot be reactivated — a new one must be created
Distribution Failed
Addo could not deliver the signed documents.
Possible reasons:
Invalid or bouncing email addresses
Issues with the sender’s or recipient’s mail servers
Note: Contact support with the transaction ID to resolve the issue.
Failed
Means the documents never reached the signer, and the transaction has been aborted.
Typical causes:
Invalid email address
Server issues (mail, e-Boks, Digital Post)
Contact support with the transaction ID if you're unsure why the transaction failed.
