1.3 Signing methods

This article walk you through the signing methods that a sender can offer to a signer.

What are Signing Methods?

Signing methods refer to the various options available in Addo Sign, which we often call digital signatures in everyday language. Signing digitally works the same way as placing your physical signature with ink - it is an equally valid and binding method. A digital signature has legal value and can contain various information about the signer, depending on the type of signature used.

Signing Methods for Distribution

When you create a new signing, it's important to consider which signers will participate, as well as how they should sign. When you click on 'Add one or more signers', a window will open where you can make your choices.

Note: Your choice under Identification will in some cases lock your options in Signing. For example, this will happen with MitID.

Signing Methods in Templates

You can advantageously predefine how signers should sign in a template.

Choice of Method

You can select the desired signing method by clicking on the dropdown menu under 'Signing'. Read more about the available methods here.
