What is a reference number?

A reference number is an identification of a specific transaction. In Addo Sign, when sending documents for signing, you can add a reference number consisting of numbers, letters, or a combination of both. On a shared account within your organization, it can help prevent confusion or errors.

  1. Go to the "Send" tab to send a shipment
  2. Click on "Signing Settings" and enter a reference in the "Add Own Reference Number" box.

After creating a new transaction and adding a reference number, documents, and necessary signatures, you can find the transaction using the reference number in the Overview section. The reference number is either displayed as part of your standard transaction list or can be found using the search feature.

  1. Search for the reference number

As the sender, adding a reference number also makes it easy for you to find and keep track of your signed documents in your inbox. The image below shows the entered reference number in the subject field following the name of the document that needs to be signed.
